Hon. Phillip B. Journey, Wichita, Kansas

In 2003 Phillip Journey was appointed to the Kansas Senate and elected in 2004. He authored over 30 enacted bills including statewide preemption voiding anti-gun ordinances, RTC overriding the Governor’s veto twice, legalizing class III firearms and suppressors. His awards include 2006 SAF Legislator of the Year, 2012 Kansas State Rifle Association 2A Defender.

NRA Board of Directors 1995 to 1998, 1993 FCRLDF activist of the year. He served on KSRA Board for over 20 years and as President in 2003.

Phillip is the author of multiple pro-gun newspaper editorials and magazine articles and is a former talk show host on both TV and radio for 15 years. A frequent commentator for the governmental affairs show: “Kansas Week”.

Described by the State’s largest newspaper, as a “political lion” and by Governing Magazine as a “conservative strategist”. Mr. Journey is a 4-H rifle and pistol instructor active in Sedgwick County and a CMP Master High Power Rifle Instructor.
